Important moments in life
Preventing problems and conflicts
An important role of the notary is to prevent legal problems and conflicts. Through their expertise, the notary ensures that agreements are airtight and that there are no ambiguities or legal pitfalls. This gives clients the assurance that everything is well organized and prevents them from encountering problems later on. This preventive aspect of the profession contributes to legal certainty and trust in the legal system
Impartiality and confidentiality
A core value of the notarial profession is impartiality. A notary must always remain neutral and cannot take sides in a conflict. This ensures that all parties involved can trust that their interests are being handled fairly and equitably. The impartiality of the notary reinforces the trust in the services they provide and guarantees that decisions and agreements are made fairly and objectively.
In addition, the notary has a strict duty of confidentiality. This means that all information a client shares with the notary is treated with confidentiality and is not shared with third parties without the client’s permission. This duty of confidentiality is essential to ensuring clients’ trust and providing them with the assurance that their personal and business information is safe with the notary. This aspect of the profession underscores the integrity and professionalism expected of a notary.
